RÉSUMÉ DU PROJET DE RECHERCHE
One of the biggest challenges facing Canadian dairy producers and breeders today is livestock health and fertility. Transmission of the response to environmental conditions over generations also highlights the need to link animals' environment and performance. This project will focus on the transcriptome and epigenome (DNA methylation) analysis of granulosa cells and oocytes cultured with specific lipid context to understand the basis of intergenerational programming happening in the ovary prior to gamete release. Embryos generated in different metabolic contexts will be analysed also using transcriptomic and epigenetic as well as piglets obtained from embryos exposed to the same metabolic contrasts.
