Dr. Mauro Silva is an Assistant Professor at Université Laval and a member of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproduction since September 2024. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and his Master’s degree in Physiology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG, Brazil). He also completed an international research internship at Wake Forest University (United States) with Dr. Mark C. Chappell and Dr. Sarah Lindsey (Tulane University).
Subsequently, Dr. Silva obtained his PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Otago (New Zealand), specializing in neuroendocrinology under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Campbell. His postdoctoral training included collaborations with Dr. Paolo Giacobini and Dr. Vincent Prévot at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM, Lille, France), as well as with Dr. Victor Navarro at Harvard Medical School – Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston, United States).
